A Gibbs Sampling Algorithm with Monotonicity Constraints for Diagnostic Classification Models

چکیده

Diagnostic classification models (DCMs) are restricted latent class with a set of cross-class equality constraints and additional monotonicity on their item parameters, both which needed to ensure the meaning classes model parameters. In this paper, we develop an efficient, Gibbs sampling-based Bayesian Markov chain Monte Carlo estimation method for general DCMs constraints. A simulation study was conducted evaluate parameter recovery algorithm showed accurate Moreover, proposed compared previously developed sampling imposed only main effect parameters log-linear cognitive diagnosis model. The newly less bias faster convergence. An analysis 2000 Programme International Student Assessment reading assessment data using also conducted.

Closed-Form Gibbs Sampling for Graphical Models with Algebraic Constraints

Probabilistic inference in many real-world problems requires graphical models with deterministic algebraic constraints between random variables (e.g., Newtonian mechanics, Pascal’s law, Ohm’s law) that are known to be problematic for many inference methods such as Monte Carlo sampling. Fortunately, when such constraints are invertible, the model can be collapsed and the constraints eliminated t...

Nearest Neighbour Classification with Monotonicity Constraints

In many application areas of machine learning, prior knowledge concerning the monotonicity of relations between the response variable and predictor variables is readily available. Monotonicity may also be an important model requirement with a view toward explaining and justifying decisions, such as acceptance/rejection decisions. We propose a modified nearest neighbour algorithm for the constru...

Learning Rule Ensembles for Ordinal Classification with Monotonicity Constraints

Ordinal classification problems with monotonicity constraints (also referred to as multicriteria classification problems) often appear in real-life applications, however, they are considered relatively less frequently in theoretical studies than regular classification problems. We introduce a rule induction algorithm based on the statistical learning approach that is tailored for this type of p...

Evolutionary Fuzzy Rules for Ordinal Binary Classification with Monotonicity Constraints

We present an approach to learn fuzzy binary decision rules from ordinal temporal data where the task is to classify every instance at each point in time. We assume that one class is preferred to the other, e.g. the undesirable class must not be misclassified. Hence it is appealing to use the Variable Consistency Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (VC-DRSA) to exploit preference information abo...

Gibbs sampling for parsimonious Markov models with latent variables

Parsimonious Markov models have been recently developed as a generalization of variable order Markov models. Many practical applications involve a setting with latent variables, with a common example being mixture models. Here, we propose a Bayesian model averaging approach for learning mixtures of parsimonious Markov models that is based on Gibbs sampling. The challenging problem is sampling o...
